Chapter's Specifications Program at LTU: Scholarship Awards
Metro Detroit CSI is pleased to announce the award of the Chapter's annual Hobson Memorial Scholarships on May
1, 2007.
Lawrence Technical University students, Jessica Russell and Mathew Tribbe, were both awarded $1,500
scholarships in recognition of their performance in the annual specifications competition that was held in conjunction
with the university's Construction Systems course.
Each year, Metro Detroit CSI partners with LTU to provide speakers on the subject of construction specifications.
Students are then given the opportunity to apply what they've learned in the lectures by preparing three or four
specification sections to accompany construction drawings that are a required part of the Construction Systems
course work. The chapter contributes local specification professionals to judge the contest entries.
Metro Detroit CSI congratulates this year's winners and extends special thanks to LTU professor Ash Ragheb for
organizing the lectures and contest details.
In addition, the chapter extends thanks to the following members who served as judges: Don Bauman, Ron Lindow,
David Oglesby, Bryan Peterson, Tony Wolf and Larry Zimanski. Special thanks to David Trudell, a member of the
Grand Rapids chapter, who came all the way from Holland to help out.
